1. The M Machine – When It’s Gone (Mat Zo Remix)


Genre: Dance

I’ve been a while since I’ve heard a Mat Zo remix I really love. This is a fantastic tune sure to be on repeat.

 

2. Flux Pavilion – I Can’t Stop (Ekali Tribute)


Genre: Trap

Ekali’s trap spin on this tune is unreal. Be sure to put the volume up on this one.

 

3. Justin Bieber – Sorry (Elderbrook Cover)


Genre: Indie

Yes it’s a Bieber track. However, and a BIG however, this cover is wayyy better than the original tune. Have a listen – you’ll find it hard to disagree.

 

4. Laurence Guy – Wish I Knew


Genre: House

Perfect tune for an afternoon by the beach or lounge with your favorite cocktail. The combination of vinyl-scratch sounds, piano, and old school vocals are stunning.

 

5. RÜFÜS DU SOL – You Were Right (Louis Futon Remix)


Genre: Electronica

My favorite parts of this tune are when Futon hangs on certain beats before returning full force.

 

6. Illenium – Sleepwalker (Virtu Remix)


Genre: Future Bass

Lovely vocals plus bass drops make this one a winner.

 

7. James Bay – Let It Go (Vexaic Remix)


Genre: Dubstep

This is a beautiful chill dubstep remix.

 

8. Delta Heavy – White Flag VIP


Genre: Drum & Bass

I love the repeating vocals in this dnb tune.

 

9. YAKONA – Sonder


Genre: Techno

Definitely a darker vibe to this tune. The piano snippets are fantastic.

 

10. Rihanna – Desperado (Mike Metro Bootleg)


Genre: House

One of those tunes you just want to fill the room with and dance to. Enjoy!

Top Tune Recap – February 2015

It’s that time again. While it is always difficult to narrow down to ten from all the tracks I’ve listened to over the course of a month, I’ve gone through my posts and have selected my top picks. Here we go:

1. Jack Ü – Take Ü There (feat. Kiesza) (Missy Elliott Remix)
Genre: Electro
How many of you waited for the Jack Ü album to drop, like a kid waiting for xmas? I did! Missy, skrillex, and diplo. Sounds like an instant win to me. Bonus points if you watched the 24 (err, 18) hour Jack Ü live stream.

2. Mad Zach – Kräftig EP
Genre: Grime
This is a talent to watch out for. I cheated a bit since this is an EP and not necessarily a track (let’s call it a really LONG track). Well constructed beats + bass!

3. Seinabo Sey – Hard Time (Dimond Saints) Remix
Genre: Trap
Crank the volume up. Gotta love the kicks and vocals in this one.

4. Parov Stelar – “Clap your hands” (Bart&Baker Remix)
Genre: Electro
I am a sucker for songs with classic flair. Fantastic track with swing elements.

5. Sir Sly – Afterlife (Arcade Fire Cover)
Genre: Indie Pop
Still honored to see this band live. I love the spin they put on an already great song.

6. L’homme aux 4 lettres – Macchiato Girl
Genre: TrapDanceClub
Big beats, bass, and intricate sounds. ‘Nuff said.

7. PAJI – Children Of Love
Genre: House
There should be a genre called Feel-Good House. This falls under that category.

8. PROFF – You Wanna
Genre: Electro House
Ever since I found out about PROFF from Above & Beyond, I’ve been hooked. Another solid track with disco flair.

9. SEQU3l – Booka Booka
Genre: Techno
A track that’s a bit hard to pin down genre-wise. Booka Booka definitely tinkers around trance, progressive, and techno styles. In any event, whatever genre it comes down to, this is definitely a go-to late night party track. Check it out.

10. Y.V.E. 48 – On The Road (Addal Remix)
Genre: House
A summertime house tune guaranteed to get you out of this winter funk.
