Top Tune Recap – January 2015

So I’ve decided to do something a bit different this year. At the end of each month, I’d like to recap my top ten tracks. I’m starting off with January.

This was a hard feat given all the amazing tracks I’ve come across. I’ll list each track and a one-liner about the track. I hope you like them as much as I do.

In no particular order, here we go:

1. Cruisr – Don’t Go Alone
Genre: Alternative
Imagine a day, driving down the highway, under the California sun, with the wind breezing through your hair. This track feels like that kind of day. If you can’t imagine that, well that stinks. By the way, this song has a catchy hook.

2. Poupon – So Long
Genre: House
Of course my recap would contain a house track. That’s how I roll. ‘So long’ features a fantastic bassline. Get down to this dancefloor-worthy track.

3. Max Cue – Mindfulness (Teho Remix)
Genre: Electronica – sure let’s go with that
I came across Teho and loved his remix style. This was one of my favorite remixes from him.

4. Matt Cardle – When You Were My Girl (Tontario Remix)
Genre: Deep House
Wait for the beat change around 1:20. It’s worth it.

5. ODESZA – Bloom (Lane 8 Remix)
Genre: Deep House
You may have guessed by now I love remixes. This is my absolute favorite one for January – maybe even in the top billing for the rest of the year. Lane 8 is tremendous.

6. Peebs The Prophet – “Dead Calm” (Prod. Phoniks)
Genre: Hip Hop
So, I’m not a huge hip hop enthusiast, but I couldn’t pass this track up. It has a classic beat and love the lyrical flow.

7. Aquilo – Human
Genre: Electro-Pop
Loved Aquilo so much I purchased items off their bandcamp page. Piano + Ambient Electronic Background + Lovely Vocals = Win!

8. Little By Little – ‘Bang The Box EP’
Genre: House
Hard hitting bassline. Enough said. Go listen, like right now.

9. L’Tric – This Feeling
Genre: House
Another fresh house tune. Definitely more of a dance vibe from this one.

10. Aytac Kart – Phobias and Fears
Genre: Deep House
Aytac Kart, you’ve just made the cut. Lovely vocals set against a lush deep house background.

Follow my blog for daily tracks and see you next month for February’s recap!
